Simvastatin API

Simvastatin is a statins type of lipid lowering drug and is a synthetic derivative of Aspergillus tumefaciens fermentation products, which is used to control the cholesterol content in blood and prevent cardiovascular disease. Simvastatin is a reductase inhibitor of HMG CoA, which inhibits the synthesis of endogenous derived cholesterol, and is a lipid regulator. It can reduce the cholesterol (TC) content in serum, liver and aorta of hyperlipidemia rabbits, and the level of VLDL-C and LDL-C.

  • Reductase inhibitor, can reduce the concentration of serum total cholestol, inhibit cholesterol synthesis. It is used for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia whose cholesterol level exceeds 7.8mmol/L and other treatments are ineffective or cannot be tolerated.
